Akieme in 100th game UD Almería shirt

His partner, Alba surprises the winger and gives him the commemorative jersey before an interview with the media

UD Almería players with over 100 appearances are part of a select group and Sergio Akieme has just joined it after fulfilling, during the match against Real Valladolid CF, his match number 100 with the Rojiblanco team. During an interview with the official media, his partner, Alba has surprised the defender together with a personal friend of Akieme's, Ángel, and both have delivered a shirt with the number of matches played at UD Almería printed on the back.

An excited Akieme commented: 'I feel very proud to have reached that figure and having fulfilled them in Primera Division. I'm going to frame it and put it in a special place. I see that number 100 and I can't believe it. Time flies. The full-back recalled his intense debut: 'It was my first game, it was my first goal and it was my first expulsion,' he comments laughing.

The Madrid-born Equatorian Guinean has valued his time at the Club si far: 'I've got the feeling that I've become an adult here. I came very young and this stage has coincided with my professional and personal maturity. UD Almería have allowed me to play many matches and that has given me the confidence I needed.'

The Parleño has revealed why he signed for the Club and not for other teams: 'I liked Turki's project a lot and my expectation was to play in first division. UD Almeria were a perfect springboard for it and it's been in the best possible way. I've connected very well with the Club, with the city and with the team,' he stated in this interview for UDA Radio.

Logically, the 25-year-old also referred to Sunday's final and personal feelings: 'Security. If there's one word that defines my state of mind regarding Sunday, it's that. We have the experience that we lived last year at the Butarque Stadium and tranquility is the the only one that leads you to meet your goals. Nerves, quite the opposite. The team is in a good place right now. We competed very well and we're full of confidence to make it on Sunday.'
