Akieme commits future to UD Almería after successful season-long spell
The left-back will be wearing the red and white jersey until the 2025/26 season
UD Almeria have signed left-back Sergio Akieme on a permanent deal from FC Barcelona following his successful season-long spell with the Rojiblancos. The footballer will be wearing the red and white jersey until the 2025/26 season.
The 23-year-old player made 34 LaLiga SmartBank starts, took part in two play-off games for promotion to LaLiga Santander and played four times in the Spanish Cup tournament against Numancia de Soria , Deportivo Alavés, CA Osasuna and Sevilla FC.
Sergio Akieme arrived on loan at UD Almería from FC Barcelona last summer as the Madrid-born was playing for the Azulgrana Barça B team before moving down south and has just become a Rojiblanco for the next five campaigns.
UD Almería have also activated defensive midfielder Samú Costa’s option-to-buy fee as his loan move ends this summer. The 20-year-old Portuguese has undeniably been another key footballer who was loaned out from SC Braga.
