UD Almería’s time to respond

UD Almería have answered recent doubts with back-to-back victories and now face two consecutive home fixtures as they look to relaunch their push up the table

After a spell marked by uncertainty and growing concern, which threatened to turn into a full-blown crisis, UD Almería have steadied themselves with two successive wins. Those results arrive at an opportune moment, with 2 matches in a row on home soil that could lift Rubi’s side into the upper reaches of the standings, particularly given the number of direct encounters between promotion contenders.

UD Almería begin this decisive run on Friday (KO 8.30pm CET) when they host FC Andorra on Matchday 26. Elsewhere, CD Castellón face Deportivo de La Coruña, two teams currently positioned just above UD Almería, a combination of results that further underlines the importance of securing all 3 points.

The following week, again at the UDA Stadium, UD Almería will take on Córdoba CF, in another round shaped by key head-to-head clashes: UD Las Palmas welcome CD Castellón, while Racing de Santander travel to face Burgos CF.

With the next fixture marking the start of the final third of the season and with promotion to Primera firmly in the sights of several demanding opponents, this stretch of the campaign represents a pivotal moment. Both the Club and the city are being called upon to step up as the Indálicos aim to force their way into the automatic promotion places. In that context, the UDA Stadium must become an impregnable fortress.

The squad completed a recovery session on Monday and will return to training on Wednesday. Dzôdić is available again after serving a suspension in Cádiz for an accumulation of yellow cards, while Melamed and Lopy trained separately at the Anexo.
