A truly inspirational leadership

UD Almería started the league scoring three goals away from home. Rubi praised the hard work of those subs who did not start

UD Almería climbed up into the top place in the table after LaLiga SmartBank opening game thanks to their 1-3 victory over FC Cartagena last Monday. A goal difference is worth to lead the standings because the Rojiblancos were the only team players who scored 3 goals on Matchday 1.

UD Almeria’s leadership after Matchday 1 might be temporary but it is also significant as Rubi commented during the post-game presser in Cartagena. Scoring three goals away from home is not piece of cake and UD Almería did it, having even more chances to have increased their advantage. UD Almeria head coach Rubi highlighted the team's offensive game, but also their hard work, dedication and defensive strength, an aspect in which the side has hugely improved compared to the previous campaign. The team has showed it over the course of their summer pre-season and they have managed to keep it up at the start of the championship.

Rubi, speaking to the Club’s official radio station, UDA Radio, after going through a press conference, sent a message to those subs and team members who did not get minutes. He praised the hard work they all have been doing by stating ‘picking the eleven for this game was easy because anyone could have played, but at the same time very difficult because it would be unfair for those who were not in named in the starting line-up.’
