A triumph will guarantee Almeria ‘B’ safe passage into the play-off final.

The Academy products visit Antequera CF while Torredonjimeno vs Atlético Malagueño play the other semi-final

The UD Almería ‘B’ team players are crossing their fingers as they really need a win over Antequera CF before full-time or at the end of extra time in the play-off semi-final (El Maulí Stadium/ kick-off 7:00 p.m. CEST) if they want to guarantee safe passage to Segunda Division RFEF. Any other result would wreck the youth team’s promotion hopes, who seek to keep up the effective work and good vibes after the epic quarter-final victory.

This season play-off is based on the fact that in the event of a draw after extra time, if it were necessary, it would be the home team the one to progress to the play-off final. Anyway, the triumph achieved last weekend on the Anexo Juegos Mediterraneos turf has given the Indálicos a boost of confidence that has been felt during the high-intensity training sessions ahead of the next clash.

Javi Robles will be out of action as he must serve a one-game ban after being yellow carded twice; UD Almeria won the appeal over his sending-off as the Committee found no evidence to support allegations of attack. The player was just a victim and not a perpetrator during the Almeria ‘B’ vs Juventud Torremolinos CF quarter-final after watching the video evidence provided by the Rojiblancos Club. As a result, the straight red card was rescinded and also the proposal of missing from 4 to 12 games, however it was considered that the incident was worth of a yellow card as he pushed the opponent off in an attempt to defend himself. In addition, keeper Wellington continues to recover from the meniscus surgery the Brazilian was operated on.

The Club’s official radio station UDA Radio and Dipalme Radio will give the running commentary in real time of the match over the Internet at 7:00 p.m. (CEST). From 8:00 p.m., coinciding with the match preview of the UD Almeria first-team in Gijón, the programme will also be available on the FM radio of the Diputación Provincial de Almería

The other semi-final of the play-off for promotion to Segunda Division RFEF will be contested by Torredonjimeno and Atlético Malagueño. If Almería ‘B’ manage to beat Antequera CF, the hopeful Rojiblancos would play the final away from home if the rivals were the Jaen-based team. On the other hand, the Academy squad would play hosts to the Málaga CF ‘B’ team if they happen to win.
