UD Almería ready to overcome new obstacles on the road

The Rojiblancos resume training ahead of Friday’s tough test against SD Huesca

UD Almería returned to training on Tuesday after a rest day on Monday, following a recovery session on Sunday after their match in Zaragoza last weekend. The Rojiblancos are now fully focused on Friday’s away fixture against SD Huesca at El Alcoraz Stadium, scheduled for 8:30 pm, as part of Matchday 31. The Andalusian side know they face another demanding challenge as they aim to stay firmly in the race for automatic promotion.

The trip to Aragón presents fresh obstacles for the UD Almería squad. Their opponents are currently in the relegation zone and fighting to secure survival, while also beginning a new era under recently appointed head coach José Luis Oltra, who previously managed the Club. SD Huesca are hoping to create a strong atmosphere by offering reduced-price tickets in an attempt to fill their stadium and give the team a significant home advantage for such an important encounter.

Despite the recent setback in Zaragoza, UD Almería remain 3rd in the standingslevel on points with Deportivo La Coruña, who sit second due to a superior head-to-head goal difference. With the promotion race entering a decisive stage, taking all 3 points on Friday is essential if the team want to keep the pressure on the automatic promotion places. The players are aware that consistency and determination will be crucial during the final stretch of the season.

Tuesday’s training session took place without head coach Rubi, who was attending a meeting at the Spanish Football Federation regarding refereeing matters in his role as a representative of the coaches’ association. Meanwhile, Gui Guedes is still awaiting medical tests to determine the full extent of the adductor injury he is currently dealing with. Apart from this concern, the rest of the squad trained normally and continued their preparations.

UD Almería will complete their preparations on Wednesday and Thursday with closed-door training sessions at the UD Almería Stadium, this time with Rubi back in charge. On Friday morning, the squad will travel by charter flight to Huesca, aiming to overcome the challenges ahead and take another important step in their push for promotion.
