UD Almería step up final preparations

Horta returns to boots as Rubi’s side focus on finishing drills ahead of Monday's fixture against Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa

UD Almería rounded off the week with a training session delivered at the Anexo on Friday, combining tactics with a heavy focus on finishing drills. The squad still have two more sessions, on Saturday and Sunday behind closed doors, as they fine-tune preparations for Monday’s fixture.

The most encouraging news from the session was the return of André Horta. The midfielder, who has missed the last 3 matches after the game in Cádiz, trained with the group for most of the session before completing the final part alongside the rehabilitation coach. The only player still working separately was Stefan Dzódic, who picked up an injury at the Carlos Belmonte stadium.

Head coach Rubi divided the session into two clearly defined phases. First, the Rojiblancos worked on tactical concepts through various small-sided situations and positional adjustments. Later, the focus shifted to attacking play, with several crossing drills and plenty of finishing in front of goal.

With two more training days remaining, UD Almería will continue their final rehearsals to be fully prepared for Monday’s encounter against Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa.
