Rubi: Despite the defeat, the team has fought

After the 3-1 defeat suffered at El Sadar Stadium, Rubi shared his thoughts on the game and highlighted the enormous effort of his team: ‘We’ve been inferior, but we’ve competed.’ In addition, the UD Almeria gaffer gave his account on the game: ‘In the first half, we didn't let CA Osasuna score, but in the second, we knew that they were going to be superior as the minutes passed in terms of intensity. They didn't give us time to freshen up the team because they found the opener as we feared, making a run in behind. My team has fought, worked and done everything they could.’ 

 

Despite the defeat in Pamplona, UD Almeria remain out of drop zone due to the results obtained by their rivals in the relegation battle. It is for this reason that the head coach added: ‘On these last Matchdays, we’re also playing with the results of our rivals, we’re going to continue out of relegation and we’ve already won a tough game on a difficult day.’ 

 

To end his post-game press conference, the Vilassar de Mar native assured: ‘Now we’re going home, we’re going to be positive, keeping our team dynamic in our stadium and see if we can win. That will make us see how close we are to our goal.’
