A new opportunity to reverse the situation…

UD Almería are to face their 6th league game of 2022 this Friday, ready to wrap up their first victory of the year

UD Almería are about to have a new opportunity to reverse the situation this Friday, as they will be playing host to UD Ibiza at 9pm (CET). The meeting is the sixth match of 2022 (Matchday 26) and the Rojiblancos, who closed out 2021 top of the tree, are riding a five-week winless run -four defeats and a draw-  while they are keeping themselves at the top of the table only one point away from automatic promotion.

The UD Almeria squad are fully aware that another unwanted setback could see the team in dire straits, however the Indalicos are trying to remain calm and feel confident to sort the situation out. An injury-hit and Covid-recovering squad is returning to normal, little by little; they have enough potential to be able to take each game as it comes and get three points at a time. UD Ibiza will be battling it out with complete confidence since the arrival of head coach Paco Jémez in the driving seat; the islanders have been undefeated for a while thanks to an impressive goal-scoring record.

Rubi has already commented that it will be key to improve the defence and attack effectiveness so they have been focusing solely on it, in addition to starting off the games on the right foot as they used to. The outstanding support of the UD Almeria fans will also be decisive, since the team need to count on the twelfth man right behind them at this time, more than ever.

The squad members have been training this Thursday evening at the Juegos Mediterráneos Stadium, the stage where they are hoping to be back to winning ways this Friday.
