A brand new start for Almeria ‘B’ in Tercera Division RFEF

The winning teams of each of the 18 groups will win automatic promotion Segunda Division RFEF. 9 sides to be promoted after play-offs

It is a brand-new start. The Spanish Football Federation has just confirmed the format of the Spanish fifth-tier Tercera Division RFEF in which the UD Almería ‘B’ team will be competing next 2021/22 season.

The Rojiblancos Academy team will be included in one of the 18 groups that will make up the Tercera Division RFEF. The regular phase will be played in league format with the winners of each group earning automatic promotion to Segunda Division RFEF.

Afterwards, it would be necessary to enter two more stages to complete the remaining 9 promotion spots. In the first place, a play-off will be held in each group from the second to the fifth qualified sides, having competitive advantages those who have been ranked higher in the table standings. The winning team in the final will progress to the last round.

Lastly, the 18 qualified teams in these knockout stages will make it to the national play-offs at a neutral venue. The winners of each of these crunch games will take their place in the higher league for the 2022/23 campaign.

The UD Almería ‘B’ products will be framed in the Eastern Andalusia group, although the exact number of teams that will be in it, how many sides will sadly face relegation to the regional division and the starting date of the fixtures are yet to be determined.
