UD Almería are very eager to emerge victorious in one of the most-watched live international football games at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The Rojiblancos are determined to replicate their previous sterling performances away from home against Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona as well as their last home display against Girona FC.

The game will be followed by millions of TV viewers after Real Madrid CF's Super Cup champions title and their elimination in the Spanish Cup tournament.

The Rojiblancos team want to take a leading role in this Sunday's meeting in which they will try to spring the big surprise against the Madridistas. Gaizka Garitano urges his players, as he stated in the pre-Real Madrid press conference, to replicate the great performance shown on their last Matchday against Girona FC and the way of competing in the trips made to the Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona's stadiums, against whom they created a glut of chances.

The squad members have completed one last training session this Saturday before flying charter Madrid. Neither César Montes, who will miss out as he has not fully recovered from his injury, nor Arnau Puigmal and Koné, in addition to the footballers who are away on international duty in the African Cup of Nations: Mendes, Baba and Marciano. Léo Baptistão will have to serve a one-game ban due to accumulation of yellow cards.

Given the fact that these are many key absences, Gaizka Garitano have named four UD Almería 'B' team youngsters om the squad list, although two of them are training regularly with the UD Almería first teamers.
