4-1: Almería Women move further clear of the relegation positions.

It was a comprehensive victory for the Rojiblancas over Cáceres Atlético ‘B’ with Nadia’s brace and goals from Fátima and Pilar

The UD Almería Women's team clinched a vital victory in view of their aspirations to continue one more year in Primera Nacional. The Rojiblancas overwhelmingly beat Cáceres Atlético ‘B’, a team sitting third, thanks to a brace courtesy of Nadia and two goals from Fátima and Pilar. In general terms, the match was dominated by the Rojiblancas from start to finish.

Almería Women showed from the first moments that they wanted to collect all three points at the Emilio Campra Stadium. So much so that they doubled their lead within just 20 minutes. Nadia scored the opener by striking thanks to peer Cristina’s assist, while Fatima slammed in the second (2-0).

The ladies from Almería were leading before the interval and without the home team’s keeper having to work hard between the sticks. Agustín Sánchez's players were well organised and did not hesitate to have goal-scoring opportunities.

The second half arrived and Lorena set off the alarms, since she made sure the Cáceres-based team got back into the game after 48 minutes (2-1). Nonetheless, the opponents’ response did not scared Almeria as the Andalusians did not take long to get the ball back again until the final victory was achieved.

After a series of attempts at goal, in the 57th minute, Nadia López took a leading role after a play in which she beat the goalkeeper to make it 3-1. The UD Almería Women were achieving a vital result to escape the drop and improve their numbers regarding the standings.

The Rojiblancas seemed to have not enough and they fired home the fourth. This would not happen until the 90th minute thanks to Pilar making the most of a corner-kick at the hands of team-mate Paqui.

Almería Women are now 3 points away from relegation following the 4-1 result. The Indalicas will pay a visit to their relegation-threatened CD Castuera next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. (Spain Time). This rearranged match could not be played before due to Covid-19.
