4-1: Almeria U19 ‘A’ virtually certain they’ll stay up in ‘Division de Honor Juvenil’

The teenage Rojiblancos achieved their goal with two games remaining after comprehensive win over Recreativo de Huelva

UD Almería Under-19s are virtually certain that they will spend one more year competing in the Division de Honor Juvenil following Sunday’s 4-1 victory over Recreativo de Huelva at Los Ángeles Sports complex. The homegrown players dominated the match from the kick-off. Despite the fact that there are two games remaining, this result means that there are six teams that can no longer catch up with the youngsters from Almeria, and that they will compete again in the highest level of Spanish football at this age.

Since the game kick-off, Miguel Compán's boys were willing to achieve their goal without having to wait for the last two matches. In fact, it was a flying start for Almeria U19s ‘A’ as Álex Domingo opened the scoring with 6 minutes on the clock (1-0).

In general terms, it was one of the best matches that UD Almería U19s ‘A’ played this season. The Rojiblancos knew how to be organised during the development of the first half to hold the lead at the interval against competitors who arrived in Almería city in need of points.

Paco Benítez and Álex Domingo put their names onto the scoresheet in the second half scoring goals in minutes 49 and 53. Even though they scored the third (3-0), the players did not take their foot off the gas.

There was still some time left for the final whistle when Parra gave Recreativo de Huelva hope to be able to turn the game around. That goal did not worry the Rojiblancos much as they knew that they would stay up thanks to all three home points and the defeat of Maracena. The teenagers from Almería city continued to believe and Álvaro made it 4-1 in the last moments.

Four goals sealed the continuity of Almeria U19s ‘A’ in the Division de Honor Juvenil because six sides, which the total number of teams to get relegated, cannot hunt down the homegrown players from Almeria. The youth team will be able to face their last two league commitments without any worries of having to look at the table.
