3 points ahead of Real Valladolid CF and SD Eibar with one game in hand

UD Almería continue to keep their most direct rivals at bay in the fight for promotion once Matchday 23 is over

UD Almería continue to keep their rivals at bay in the fight for promotion to the top tier of Spanish football and although some of these strong opponents have closed the gap, the Rojiblancos have one game in hand against CD Lugo, which will be played next Wednesday, 19th January.

Taking into account that this is a blank Match week due to the Spanish Cup, UD Almería will already have played the same number of games as the rest of the second tier teams before heading into Matchday 24.

UD Almeria remain LaLiga SmartBank pacesetters 3 points ahead of second-placed Real Valladolid CF and third-placed SD Eibar. The Armeros will be the Indalicos'' next adversaries to be hosted at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium (Monday, 24th January) once the postponed away game with CD Lugo has been played.

Promotion-hunting CD Tenerife follow hard on the heels of the top three 7 points behind the Rojiblancos, SD Ponferradina (8) and FC Girona (9) are the last side to have a seat in the VIP zone. UD Las Palmas are sitting seventh 11 points adrift of the leaders of the pack.
