3-3: UD Almería B cannot beat CD Torreperogil despite taking the lead twice
The set-pieces mark a match in which the UDA 'B' team dominated, but some errors took their toll and prevented them from taking a huge step in the table
UD Almería 'B' could not beat CF Torreperogil either, who still have not lost as visitors, although for first time in their travels, they did concede a goal. The Rojiblancos, who for most of the match were the dominating side taking the lead twice, 2-1 and 3-2, after cancelling out an opener from the Jaén-based side 0-1. The set-pieces were were key.
The first half was bossed by the UDa 'B' team, who had control of the ball at all times and took the initiative, although it was difficult for them to overcome opponents who put in a difficult and effective defensive display with very close lines and pressing high. The Rojiblancos passed the ball effectively, looking for the best chance, but they couldn't find the best way find the back of the net. In the 13th minute, after a corner, CD Torreperogil were ahead.
Despite this setback, Alberto Lasarte's team did not break down nor were affected by conceding that much. They continued to dominate and in the 35th minute, Loren was the awarded a clear penalty when he was knocked down by Ballesteros inside the box. The striker converted from 12 yards to draw level (1-1). With this result the break was reached, although UD Almería 'B' wasted two clear chances to have gone to the dressing room in front.
The second half was similar to the first when the 'B' team came out commanding and taking the initiative. 8 minutes after the restart, they achieved the reward for their superiority when Marsu scored from the edge of the area. It was 2-1 that seemed get the game back on track, but shortly after, in the 62nd minute, a free-kick taken by visitor Joya could not be denied by Bruno as opponent Oscar took advantage to tie. From then on, there was plenty of end-to-end activity, although with the players from Jaén being more practical and effective.
