3-3: Another hard-fought point for Almería Women!

The Rojiblancas collect a big point in the 90th minute in the home match against Malaga CF Women, who arrived after winning all games

UD Almería Women once again played one of those games that will go down in the history of the 2021/22 season. Álvaro García Búrdalo's side added to their spectacular run of results a new feat in the form of scoring against tough rivals, clear candidates for promotion to the top flight, who have won all their league games so far. After the Indálicas got ahead,  the visitors showed their high quality to make it 1-3. Then, the Rojiblancas plucked up the courage and drew level thanks to Paqui's superb brace, the leveller scored in the 90th minute.

The first half was enough for the girls from Almeria to have reached half-time with a more than one goal to their names, since the hosts were bossing things during these opening 45 minutes. Three clear opportunities were experienced in the first minutes of play. Adriana and Esther were involved in a one-on-one with the keeper, the latter testing the reflexes of the Málaga goalie, while it was a defender who blocked a fine attempt from Maria under the sticks within 24 minutes.

The award for the Rojiblancas would not wait too long to arrive. After 26 minutes, Jessi relied on an solo action that led her to the box and opened the scoring thorough a thumping shot taken from a wide position.

After the 1-0, more chances were created by the home team, yet the visitors made it clear that they would not go back home empty handed and also showed their skills with Sara squandering a great one in the 40th minute so that the score did not change before the break.

After the restart, Málaga CF Women shone away from home. So much so that the neighbours demonstrated the reason behind their unbeaten streak with 10 wonderful minutes in which they managed to snatch the lead (1-3). However, if someone thought that UD Almería Women were going to give up, they were very wrong. Álvaro García Búrdalo's footballers returned to take the game off their ground not only with patience but also with high confidence.

With 60 minutes on the clock, the Rojiblancas' gaffer made a triple substitution with the additions of Marta Paz, Sarita and Paqui. The intention was obvious...bring more players high up the pitch and the decision was perfect when the last footballer mentioned in the last place fired a powerful strike from the edge of the area  (2-3).

The clash saw plenty of end-to-end activity until full-time. Looking at the Almeria side, the Rojiblancas continue to put in a brave fight until Paqui surprised again pulling one back in the 90th minute.

The 3-3 sparked sheer madness at the Emilio Campra Youth Stadium and that makes it 7 weeks with Almería Women being undefeated after being the first ones to share the spoils with in-form Málaga CF Women.
