3-2: Almeria B lose against Huétor Vega and drop out of the promotion play-off spots
Almeria B came back from 2-0 down to even the score but a late goal from Huétor Vega during extra time, when the Almeria B team went down to 10 men, gave the adversaries a 3-2 victory.
Almeria B lost 3-2 against CD Huétor Vega, from Granada, and with this defeat, the UD Almeria Second team dropped out of the promotion play-off spots to Second Division B. Real Jaen are sitting fourth in the table, only one point ahead of the rojiblancos, while the third-placed Motril CF are 3 points above Almeria. Almeria B managed to bag just one point in the last three match weeks, which took their toll in the standings.
The Almeria second team were surprised by their rivals’ intensity, who are struggling to avoid the drop in the IX group of the Third Division, and in just three minutes (21 and 24) the homegrown players saw Huétor Vega taking a two-goal lead. In any case, Almeria B had the ability to react and after half-time, they fought back to even the score a few minutes after restarting the game.
With 2-2 on the scoreboard, both teams were doing their best to win the game, although Almeria restlessly witnessed how their opponents did not give up. When the game went to extra time, the players from Huétor Vega made it 3-2 after a free kick, in which the rojiblanco centre-back Aitor Puñal was sent off.
