3-1: UD Almería 'B' hold onto promotion play-off positions
The UDA Academy youth team beat CD Huétor Tájar and increase advantage over CF Motril (5 points) and Huétor Vega (6). The youthful Rojiblancos reigned far superior to their rivals. Joan, Canton and Loren earned their names onto the scoresheet
UD Almería 'B' recorded their third consecutive victory within Group IX of the Tercera RFEF by beating Huétor Tájar 3-1 at the Anexo Power Horse Stadium. With this victory, the 'B' team boys are placed fourth in the standings, surpassing Atlético Malagueño, who have not competed this weekend, but the most important thing is that they have taken advantage of the defeats of CF Motril and Huétor Vega to leave these teams behind to five and six points, respectively, with which the Rojiblancos have made a giant step in their aspirations to fight for promotion.
The UDA youth team reigned far superior to Huétor Tájar, located in 'no man's land' in the competition, but the victory had to be clinched because, at times, the game became complicated. In fact, Alberto Lasarte's boys bossed things in the first half, including an opener from Joan after a play by Valen on 10 minutes. When it seemed that the encounter was going to get on track soon, things went downhill. So much so that shortly before half-time, the Granada-based side tied.
In the second half, the UDA boys were in charge again, although the rivals were well organised and did not make it easy, but the commanding display from Almeria propelled them to get ahead 13 minutes after the restart through Canton.
UD Almería 'B' showed more fluidity in their game than in the first forty-five minutes and as as a result, in the 76th minute, Loren after a well-timed delivery from Ballestero, made it 3-1 to grab all three points. UD Almería 'B' fashioned more chances than sluggish CD Huétor Tájar.
