3-0: UD Almería 'B' relegated after defeat in Melilla

The youthful Rojiblancos drop to Tercera RFEF is confirmed with 5 games remaining following a 3–0 loss

UD Almería 'B' have now been mathematically relegated and will compete in the fifth-fier Tercera RFEF next season. With 5 matches still to play, the team bid farewell to Group IV of the Segunda RFEF.

After narrowly missing out on the promotion play-offs to Primera RFEF last season, this campaign has been a major disappointment. The side struggled under both head coaches Alberto Lasarte and later José María Salmerón. Although the latter oversaw a promising start, hopes of a turnaround quickly faded as results declined sharply.

In Melilla, against a side battling for survival, UD Almería 'B' had little chance. The hosts showed their urgency from the outset, taking the lead in the 17th minute. While the visitors had opportunities to equalise, UD Melilla also threatened and doubled their advantage before half-time from the penalty spot. A third goal late on sealed the result.

With 15 points still available, UD Almería 'B' sit that same distance from the relegation play-off position, but with the head-to-head disadvantage, while safety is even further away—confirming their drop.
