3-0: Almeria ‘B’ fall to defeat to Torredonjimeno and leaves play-off zone

The youthful Rojiblancos suffer the total effectiveness of the Jaén-based side who score three goals

UD Almería ‘B’ suffered a tough defeat on their visit to Torredonjimeno in a match in which the youthful Rojiblancos made their presence known in the final third, but in which the hosts showed total effectiveness by scoring in each of the shots between the three sticks. With a score of 3–0, the young Indalicios left the play-off zone.

The game began with Almeria ‘B’ having more ball control, taking it from one side to the other and sending warnings. The first minutes were not positive for the UDA Academy side, since after 12 minutes, Antonio Vela put the hosts ahead, sending a shot to the net that came from the left wing.

Almería ‘B’ reacted quickly. Raúl Caballero finished off a corner-kick with his head, but this time it skimmed the post. Despite what the scoreboard recorded, the first half was bossed by Óscar Fernández's lads.

The youth squad from Almería created more big opportunities. Gilbert started an individual action that ended with a shot over the crossbar, while, immediately afterwards, Raúl Caballero reached the edge, and wanted to team up with peer Gilbert without the latter being able to control it when he was left alone in front of the keeper.

No good news for the Rojiblancos during the second half, since the Jienenses would continue to have 100% effectiveness to achieve 3-0 as soon as they returned from half-time with a great goal from Mario Martos. Shortly before, Cuenca’s powerful strike after a corner-kick escaped the crossbar.

Almería ‘B’ went all out for a win and Caballero got a goal chalked off for offside. There were two big chances by the Indálicos in which the goalkeeper made interventions to block two shots on goal by Cuenca and Gilbert.

It did not help Almeria ‘B’ to have had more presence up front because they were not successful when finishing off, on the one hand, and due to the total efficiency of UD Ciudad de Torredonjimeno, whose shots between the three sticks ended up in the net. Another defeat for the UDA Academy squad took place away from home to push the Almerienses out of the positions that give access to the play-off at the end of the season.
