2-4: UD Almería Women rack up 4th back-to-back victory!
The Rojiblancas beat SPA Alicante Women and proved their fine form. Two inch-perfect sensational strikes from Fátima and Jessi, one goal from Carla and another from Lucía earned them a well-deserved victory
UD Almería Women proved their fine form again as the girls racked up their fourth back-to-back victory in an electric game in which up to 5 goals were netted in the first half. The Andalusian outfit won 2-3 and in the second half, they managed to extend their lead until the final 2-4.
The opening half was electric, the Rojiblancas took the lead thanks to a stunner from Lucia in the 12th minute, who made most of a loose ball within the area to beat the host goalkeeper to make it 0-1. Next, 16 minute in, SPA Alicante Women cancelled their opener out. Despite the tie, the Rojiblancas managed to remain calm and in the 23rd minute, Fátima scored a scorcher from more than 21 yards that put them ahead. Furthermore, shortly after, in the 28th minute, Carla made it 1-3 after beating the keeper in a one-on-one duel.
The Indálicas bossed the match against the hosts who lacked ideas, however, a dubious penalty brought the Alicante-based side back into the match, converting from 12 yards inside 32 minutes. Finally, the opening half came to an end with a surprising 2-3 score.
It was an end-to-end second hand but with UD Almería Women piling on the attack. In the 15th minute, Fátima sent a warning header hitting the crossbar and in the 21st minute, Jessi would make it 2-4 with a stunner from the edge of the box that was impossible to save. From this point on, the Rojiblancas kept their rivals at bay and could have even increased their lead, but in the end, the result remained unchanged thanks to great saves by Carmen in the dying embers.
