2-3: UD Almería Women lose out after fighting back from two goals down

The Rojiblancas came from 0-2 down to level the first fixture of the 2026/27, but were unable to prevent the visitors from scoring a late winner

UD Almería Women were unable to take anything from their first official match in Group III of the women's Segunda RFEF, falling to a 2-3 defeat against experienced-side CD Femarguín Spar Gran Canaria at the Emilio Campra Youth Stadium on the opening fixture of the 2026/27 season.

The visitors, who have considerable experience in this tier and a more experienced squad than UD Almería Women, took control during the first half and went into the break with a comfortable 2-goal advantage.

However, the Rojiblancas showed great character after the restart. They raised their game, produced a strong reaction and managed to draw level, demonstrating both determination and quality. Despite a spell of end-to-end football and several changes in momentum, the visitors found the decisive goal late in the game to seal a 2-3 victory.

UD Almería Women were without two of their key players, Jessi and Paqui Campoy, who are currently in Italy with the Spanish senior beach soccer national team.
