2-2: Stoppage time leaves UD Almería ‘B’ without victory
The UDA Academy Almeria players concedes a goal in the 92nd minute and have to settle for a draw in their trip to Huétor Vega.
The UDA Academy ‘B’ team players saw how two points escaped them with a last-gasp goal by Huétor Vega in the 92nd minute. The Rojiblancos made more than enough merit to win, in fact, they were doing it with goals from Marciano and Avelino. However, injury time left the young Indálicos out of the promotion play-off zone.
The match started well, in terms of the result, since after 8 minutes Marciano put the youthful Rojiblancos ahead. Shortly after, the goalscorer had to be substituted following a duel. His place was taken by Lokosa.
As the first half wore on, both sides put in a commanding display. With 20 minutes gone, Diego Fuoli made a great save that momentarily maintained the advantage, but the goalie could not do anything shortly after when Miguel Peinado did convert the 1-1. Nevertheless, the reaction of the Academy ‘B’ team was immediate, as Avelino put his name onto the scoresheet 32 minutes in (1-2) and the break arrived.
The match did not change in the development of the second period, being able to see two mighty contenders who were looking for their danger options; UD Almería ‘B’ aiming for a goal that would give them more peace of mind and Huétor Vega the tie.
The second goal was scored and it would also be at a very uncomfortable moment for the homegrown players after 92 minutes when they conceded the final 2-2. The share of points keeps Óscar Fernández's boys out of promotion positions to the Segunda Division RFEF. Looking ahead to the next Matchday, the UD Almeria ‘B’ team will play next weekend at home with a visit from El Palo.
