2–2: UD Almería 'B' let 2 points slip late on

UD Almería 'B' and CD Extremadura played out a 2–2 draw at the Anexo pitch in a Matchday 26 fixture. The result leaves neither side satisfied: the youthful Rojiblancos, who are falling behind in the battle for survival, desperately need wins, while the visitors required 3 points to keep their play-off hopes alive. In the end, it was a stalemate that helped neither team.

The match itself was full of twists and turns, with both sides trading blows throughout a lively encounter that produced goals and plenty of uncertainty.

CD Extremadura struck first in the 18th minute when Diego Díaz put the guests ahead. The hosts responded almost immediately, however, as Iker Burgos levelled the score just a couple of minutes later to bring the hosts back into the game.

The home side even had the chance to turn the match around before the break, but the 'B' team striker missed from the penalty spot in the 36th minute.

Burgos made amends in the second half. In the 75th minute he finished off a move involving Marciano to give José María Salmerón’s side a 2–1 lead and seemingly put them on course for victory.

CD Extremadura, however, kept pushing and found the equaliser in the 81st minute, with Diego Díaz grabbing his second goal of the afternoon. There were still chances at both ends in the closing stages, but neither team managed to find a winner.
