2-1: Almeria ‘B’ pull off the heroic against Alhaurino

Fermín scores a brace including a penalty goal within 91 minutes to seal the Academy team’s first victory of the season

The UD Almería ‘B’ team achieved their first victory of the 2021/22 season. The Academy boys were far superior to Alhaurino, but they had to pull off the heroic after the visitors cancelled out Fermin’s opener in the 88th minute. A clear penalty taken by the captain sealed the victory for Oscar Fernandez’s side (2-1).

Alhaurino had more ball possession at the beginning of the game, although they did not caused too much trouble for keeper Diego Fuoli. Little by little, the lads from Almeria grew into the game. In fact, the hosts were close to finding the opener through Raúl Caballero, who took a free-kick, however the ball grazed the crossbar.

In the first period, with 23 minutes gone, after a corner-kick, the ball was delivered to Kevin Bautista who tried his luck from outside the area and found the good response from Juanfran. Shortly after, Vértiz shot out a good combinatorial action from the Rojiblancos. In the same way, the visitors’ goalie should once again be a savior for his team in a frontal free-kick that Kevin executed.

The second half was dominated even more by Almeria ‘B’, always fighting within the final third. The opponents had no choice but to sit back and left no space for clear scoring opportunities to be created. With 57 minutes on the clock, Kevin Bautista with a header after a corner-kick taken by Fermín was close to succeeding in his fine attempt.

Caballero scored the opener on 66 minutes (1-0). Óscar Fernández's men continued attacking, but showing a lack of shooting accuracy that prevented them from extending their lead. It seemed that the second goal was difficult to score. Alhaurino found the equaliser after 88 minutes. Fran Moreno was the Malaga-based team scorer, although the young Indalicos still had some time to break the deadlock. The visitors sought to maintain the level when Hugo Neves staged a high-quality play on the wing, handed it over to Sala and his cross hit clearly one of the defender’s hand. A penalty was awarded and Fermín converted from 12 yards to make it (2-1). In the end, the three points remained in the Anexo on Matchday 2. Match information:
