2-0: UD Almería Women keep dream alive after derby win

UD Almería Women won their derby over UCD La Cañada Atlético to be able to keep their dream alive in the race for promotion. The Rojiblancas dominated comfortably a match in which Sarita and Jessi's goals sealed victory. After the victory they reached 40 points in the standings, the same as third-placed Cacereño Women 'B'.

Although the two Almeria-based sides went back and forth up the pitch. It did not not take long for the Indálicas to gain momentum as they fashioned several chances until after 30 minutes, Ana Carrascosa spotted peer Sarita unmarked within touching distance of the goal and the forward slotted home (1-0).

With half an hour gone, Álvaro García Búrdalo's players performed at their best on the pitch as they doubled their lead a bit later courtesy of Jessi, whose strike at the far post put them 2-0 up at the break. 

The second half arrived with lack of goal-mouth activity. The visitor goalkeeper had to be replaced by an outfield player because Lorena could not continue in action. La Cañada had three clear goal-scoring opportunities that were blocked with great merit by Carmen Belmonte. On the Rojiblancas side, some chances that could have extended their lead were squandered unluckily. 

The victory notched up by UD Almería Women let the girls to keep their dream alive sitting fourth with four Matchdays to go on 40 points, which are the same as Cacereño Women 'B', who have one game in hand.
