2-0: U Almería Women suffer from effectiveness of Málaga Women CF

A great counter-attack after a corner-kick taken by the visitors and a free-kick taken on the edge of the box condemned the Rojiblancas who deserved a better result

UD Almería Women paid dearly for the efficiency that Málaga Women CF had in front of goal. In general terms, the match was even and the Indálicas had chances to have obtained a better result. However, the hosts took advantage of a good counter-attack after a corner-kick taken by UD Almeria Women and shortly after, a free-kick taken outside the area led to the final 2-0, which was not fair for the Indálicas.

As soon as hostilities began, the girls from Almería squandered an opportunity to have gone ahead. With four minutes on the clock, Jessi staged a great breakaway on the wing and it was her peer Fatima who put the Malaga goalkeeper's reflexes to the test who blocked a powerful header.

The Rojiblancas were the ones who pressed high in the final third. With 26 minutes gone, a long-range strike by Lorena was deflected for a corner by María Arrabal.

The second period was pretty much the same as the first. The Almerienses and the Malagueñas continued to make their presence known in the attacking third. The hosts made a demonstration of efficiency though impressive showings. The home team gals hit the woodwork first, but on 63 minutes, Miriam Córdoba opened the scoring (1-0).

UD Almería Women did not want to lose momentum in the match after conceding. Be that as it may, the girls from Málaga found more spaces. However, the 2-0 would came via a free-kick granted by the visitors in which María Cortés did not hesitate to tap in after beating goalie Sara. This is how the end of a game was reached in which the hosts' efficiency would be key to breaking the balance and that all three points were not bagged by the Almerienses. They deserved a positive scoreline, but the travelling squad were not able to avoid their second consecutive defeat. The Rojiblancas will not play at home again until Sunday, 30 October as there is a new break in the competition.
