2-0: UD Almería U19 A kick off season with defeat against Córdoba FC U19
The UDA Academy products did not score points on the first Matchday of Group IV of the Division de Honor tier away from home
UD Almería Under-19s 'A' began their league journey, one more season, competing in Group IV of the Division de Honor tier and they did it against tough rivals Córdoba CF under-19s, who were recently promoted and made things very difficult for Zeus Carmona's outfit. Although they tried their hardest throughout the encounter, they did not manage to net in the Blanquiverde goal.
The hosts sealed victory through goals at the hands of Gabri and Prieto in their first match of the campaign. The players from Córdoba were debuting in the tier against a team that were Spanish Cup U19 runners-up and came third in the league last season. Hence, they came out onto the pitch with great intensity and putting pressure on the UD Almeria youth team.
Opponent Gabri opened the scoring on the half an hour mark and his team headed down the tunnel in front (1-0). The second half was similar to the first 45 minutes, the Blanquiverdes were still playing putting their heart and soul into it and the lads from Almeria replied in kind, but not enough to beat the goalkeeper. Zeus Carmona's outfit tried throughout the second half, but they had no luck and when the game was coming to an end, in the 90th minute, Prieto doubled the home team's lead (2-0) to grab their first three points of the season.
