The Rojiblancas recover their good vibes to beat Polideportivo San Miguel
The UD Almería Women's team recovered their good vibes and managed to beat Polideportivo San Miguel two-nil at the Constantino Cortés ground. The Rojiblancas were overwhelmingly dominating to the point that they did not fear conceding any goal. The goals either side of the break by Ana Carrascosa and Fátima inspired their team to victory over direct rivals in the fight to remain in the Primera Nacional Women's Division after three-week winless run.
Agustín Sánchez introduced new faces in the starting line-up with Andrea Ríos; Pelu, María Flores, Esther, Flores, Anita París, Pilar, Paqui, Ana Carrascosa, Nadia and Fátima on duty.
Both sides showed dominance over the energetic opening 45 minutes until Almería Women started to gain momentum on the artificial pitch at the Constantino Cortés ground, creating the first clear chance on 20 minutes. Fatima failed to score after Nadia’s assist.
As time began to wind down, the Rojiblancas looked more comfortable in possession. Just before the interval the Ana Carrascosa found the opener to add some gloss to the scoreline (1-0).
With 82 minutes on the clock, Almeria Women doubled their advantage. At that time, UD Almería Women started to control the flow of the team’s offensive. Fatima beat the goalkeeper one-on-one (2-0).
