1-2: UD Almería 'B' suffer first underserved defeat
Recently-relegated Linares Deportivo used their craft and experience to outclass the Rojiblancos who had chances to tie with the opponents. The visitors took the lead very soon through a penalty and despite tying, UD Almería 'B' could not avoid the second goal from the Jaen-based side
UD Almería 'B' suffered the first defeat of the season in their new tier Segunda RFEF. Despite not deserving it, they lost 1-2 against Primera RFEF recently-relegated rivals Linares Deportivo and one of the top contenders for promotion, who used their craft and experience to narrowly beat the youthful Indálicos.
Despite not scoring, Alberto Lasarte's boys remain in a comfortable and privileged position in the standings after four Matchdays. The head coach has been warning that his team has to start the games better. They didn't do it in Águilas, nor against Linense, but they did in Villanueva de La Serena.
Against Linares Deportivo, they were again not solid and conceded a penalty that Javi Lara netted in the 6th minute. Things could not get worse, but far from collapsing, the UDA 'B' team put in the graft with desire and determination shortly before the break. This attitude rewards them with a tie, a great goal from Hugo Neves.
In the second half, there was plenty of end-to-end activity, although without an excess of chances for either one or the other. In the 67th minute, Juanjo put Deportivo Linares ahead again. With 1-2 on the scoreboard, the guests, with better experienced footballers knew how to set the pace and control the situation. Be that as it may, Lasarte's squad did not stop trying and especially in the final stretch of the game, in which they pushed with a lot of self-esteem and conviction, they wasted chances, which perhaps could have been the fairest.
