1-2: UD Almería 'B' take another step forward towards promotion

UD Almería 'B' have once again taken a step forward in their bid to fight for promotion to the Primera RFEF after beating Don Benito 2-1 away in Badajoz on Matchday 28 in Group IV of the Segunda RFEF. The boys remain 4th in the play-off spots, with a four-point gap over 6th in the standings (the 5th-place team are also fighting for promotion) and thus consolidating their chances with 6 matches remaining in the regular season. 

 

The Almería team had to struggle to beat their bottom-team, but despite the fact that the Extremadura team are making a heavy loss, the Indálicos were once again suffering from absences for another Matchday, whether due to injuries, suspensions, national team call-ups, or first-team needs. 

 

Even so, they were able to react, and after the home side took the lead in the 8th minute, Lorenzo and Luis Lara turned the game around before half-time. 

 

In the second half, Don Benito tried to reduce the deficit, and although UD Almería 'B' weren't comfortable on the pitch, they managed to hold on to the result and earn 3 crucial points.

Referee: Antonio Pozo Fernández, from the Ceuta Referees Association. He sent off home team member Álex Benítez for a second yellow card in the 90+2'. He booked Oussama, Tapia, and manager José Carlos Prieto for CD Don Benito, as well as Lorenzo from UD Almería 'B'.
