1-1: UD Almería 'B' settle for a draw in final 2025 fixture in Estepona
The UD Almería prospects share the points with relegation rivals, but survival still in jeopardy
UD Almería 'B' secured a 1-1 draw away to CD Estepona in their final match of 2025, but the result leaves the youth team with much to do in the second half of the season. Despite dominating the early stages of the game, the young Rojiblancos were unable to capitalise on their chances, leaving them stuck in the relegation zone as they head into a lengthy break.
This match, played at the Francisco Muñoz Pérez Stadium, was a crucial one for both sides in the battle for survival in Segunda RFEF Group IV. The draw, though a point gained, does little to boost Almería 'B's chances of avoiding relegation. They sit third from bottom, with only CD Estepona below them, while the home side remains second-bottom, both still far from the safety zone.
UD Almería 'B' began the game with intent, creating the best chances in the opening period. However, despite their dominance, they struggled to find the back of the net. CD Estepona, in contrast, were largely kept at bay but found themselves ahead shortly after the break. A goal from Samu Expósito in the 66th minute gave the home side a slender lead, but UD Almería 'B’ responded just 2 minutes later. Iker Burgos, continuing his fine form, grabbed his 6th goal of the season in the 68th minute to level the score.
Despite efforts from both Andalusian outfits, the clash ended in a 1-1 stalemate, a result that does neither side any real favours in the fight against relegation. UD Almería 'B' had hoped for more, especially considering CD Estepona's poor form heading into the game, having lost their previous nine matches in a row.
The point brings some respite for UD Almería 'B' but they remain in a precarious position with much work ahead of them. The team's next competitive fixture will come on 4 January 2026, when they travel to Lorca to face CF Lorca Deportiva in what will be another vital match in their struggle for survival.
