1-1: UD Almería B pick up vital point against CF Motril to remain unbeaten away from home

The hosts took the lead in the 87th minute and shortly after, the UDA 'B' team levelled the scores in a match full of end-to-end activity. Paco Sanz was sent off in the dying minutes

UD Almería 'B' picked up a vital point after a one-all draw with CF Motril after a match played at the Escribano Castilla Stadium (Matchday 11). Although the result takes the UDA 'B' team out of the play-off zone, it can be considered as a positive score for different reasons. The Rojiblancos extend their unbeaten run to seven games and remain invencible away from home since the beginning of the season. The youth team formed by the UD Almería U19's 'A' homegrown players from last campaign, have 'trained' in a tier that is rather tough [Tercera RFEF]. CF Motril are powerful opponents, the pitch was not in good conditions, and when faced with adversity, they were never tempted to give up.

Head coach Alberto Lasarte had significant attacking absentees , Rachad and Valen. With 25 minutes on the clock, Hugo Neves, another offensive player was forced off the pitch injured. CF Motril, who have once again risen positions in Group IX following a great start to the season, came out ready to take on a well organised UD Almería 'B' who were diligent with the ball with quick transitions and defending effectively. There were chances for both outfits, but they lack pinpoint precision so it was all square at the break (0-0).

In the second half, the sides went back and forth, up the pitch. In the 87th minute, the Motrileños took the lead through Pablo Muñoz, who from the edge of the box took advantage of a rebound to beat Bruno, who put in an outstanding performance, although he could do nothing to prevent this opener. UD Almería 'B' had the ability to react and Abel grabbed a lovely leveller 89 minutes in, in the second play after a set-piece. Shortly after, 'B' team's centre-back Paco Sanz, was sent off. Added time was electric, in which both teams were close to achieving the victory.

The youthful Rojiblancos left the play-of and now sit 6th with 20 points, but UD Torre del Mar and Atlético Malagueño are nipping at the heals of UD Almería 'B' with 21, and Huétor Vega and Real Jaén, with 22. Five teams two points behind pacesetters Juventud Torremolinos CF with 29 points.
