1-1: Almeria B deserved more than a point in their clash against Loja

Almeria B created more big chances, in spite of having important absences in the squad. The UD Almeria B team are hosting direct rival Real Jaén next Sunday

Almeria B’s winless restart to the season continued as the rojiblancos laboured to a 1-1 draw with Loja. Almeria B had to settle for a one-all draw, even though they deserved to win. Playing against opponents who are playing on home turf is really complicated and difficult. However, Almeria created big chances to bag the three points. Nandinho and his team had to put up with their fourth consecutive draw, although they remain undefeated since the arrival of the Portuguese coach, and are still holding onto a place in the promotion zone. One of Almeria’s biggest rivals Real Jaén will be visiting the Anexo training ground next Sunday. 

Almeria B had no choice but facing the encounter with quite a few absences. The players were energetic, optimistic and produced a brilliant performance on the pitch. The London outfit continued to dominate proceedings but were often wasteful when chances came their way. The first-half was about decision-making with alternate dominance. Manu scored and own goal on minute 43 to make it 1-0 just before half-time.

As Almeria did not manage to score, the Loja’s player Dani Salvatierra scored an own goal to set up the definitive tie in the last minutes.
