1-0: UD Almería Women back to action with derby win against CFF Mvurgi
A first-half goal courtesy of Miriam decided a hard-fought match as the Rojiblancas remain top of Group IX with a 6-point lead
UD Almería Women resumed their league campaign in Tercera RFEF Women’s Group IX on Matchday 30, returning to action with a narrow but valuable derby victory over CFF Mvrgi from El Ejido.
The encounter, the second fixture of the second half of the season, proved to be a closely contested affair. Despite UD Almería Women’s commanding position at the top of the table and their convincing 4–0 win in the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign, the visitors posed a far sterner challenge this time around.
The breakthrough came in the first half when Miriam struck the decisive goal, ultimately settling the contest. CFF Mvrgi, featuring several former UD Almería Women players, showed resilience and ambition in search of an upset, but the league leaders managed the game effectively to secure all three points.
With this victory, the Rojiblancas continue to lead Group IX, maintaining a 6-point advantage as the season approaches its decisive stages.
UD Almería Women starting XI: Alba García, Lucía López, Mirenya, Cayetana López, Ángela Cañadas, Miriam, Marina Simón, Blanca Romero, María Gil, Jessi and Paqui Campoy.
Gisela, Liubov, Carlota and Esther, who made her debut following her recent signing, also featured.
