1-0: UD Almería 'B' win but play-offs participation remain a doubt

UD Almería 'B' have their homework done after beating UD Torre del Mar to keep play-offs for promotion dream alive.

 

The youthful Rojiblancos will have to wait to find out whether they have options to enter the play-offs on the last Matchday or not. Gilbert, with a goal scored from 12 yards in the 75th minute, earned his youth side three massive points.

 

It was a first half with intense play at both ends; both youth sides enjoyed spells with control of the ball, but without creating big chances. The ones who tried the most was Óscar Fernández's outfit.

 

In the second half, the Rojiblancos found the way to score within 53 minutes. Avelino could have netted the opener, but his free-kick shot hit the crossbar. Next, Hugo Neves dribbled past rivals to enter the small box, however the keeper denied him. Finally, it would be in the 75th minute when Gilbert scored the opening goal (1-0) after converting a penalty.

 

The hosts were able to extend their lead with several more chances. With 78 minutes on the clock, Aaron spurned a chance but  the three points were theirs.
