0-3: Marbella FC push UD Almería 'B' out of promotion play-offs
The current pacesetters showed the sort of sharpness and quick movement to beat the UDA Academy youth team through a dominant win.
UD Almería 'B' were defeated by current Group IX pacesetters Marbella FC. After the Matchday 27 results, the Academy Indálicos have been pushed out of the promotion play-offs with three games to go for the end of the regular season.
The team coached by Oscar Fernández faced the match with significant absentees due to injuries and the international break. Despite this, the hosts plucked up the courage against opponents who had won their last seven league fixtures. The UDA 'B' team were close to putting themselves in front in the first minutes through Bian, but the visitor keeper made himself big to deny the player. Shortly after, Marbella FC player Laerte, who showed a sort of sharpness and effectiveness, opened the scoring from close range.
Chances followed one another throughout the opening 45 minutes. Marciano's thumping header on 43 minutes was again saved by the Marbella FC goalie, who a couple of minutes after the restart, blocked Avelino's direct free-kick.
UD Almería 'B' had more possession producing good passes but without creating threating situations in the final third, while their rivals, with quick moves, enjoyed clear chances.
It was Agus Alonso's time to shine as he grabbed a superb brace. First, he doubled his side's lead (0-2) in no time at all by finishing off a cross delivered by Marcos and then he sealed a dominant win within 84 minutes after beating Obon (0-3).
