UD Almería 'B' earned a vital victory in their visit to Huétor Vega since it means leaving direct rivals further away from the play-off positions and, most notably, the strengthening of Alberto Lasarte's youth team in a promotion zone of increasingly tighter promotion. Good proof was the highly competitive battle between both sides where, throughout the first half, several clear chances by the UDA Academy prospects were seen such as those that Luis Lara or Rachad booted, the latter a one-on-one that was saved by the goalkeeper, in the end, Joan, with his 45-minute match-winning goal earned victory to UD Almería 'B'.
The match began with both teams seeking to impose their style of play from the off. Huétor Vega, playing at home, tried to take the initiative and dominate the midfield, while Almería 'B' remained solid in defence and sought to take advantage of the spaces left by their rivals in quick counter-attacks.
