0-1: Tough home defeat for UD Almería Women against Málaga CF Women

The Rojiblancas played a great game and deserved a better result, but the sending off of Fatima and a set-piece goal left them empty-handed.

UD Almería Women played a good game, fashioned chances and had options to take the lead, however, it would be Malaga CF Women who scored the opener from a corner taken in the 76th minute (0-1). Despite this setback, the Rojiblancas kept trying, but they couldn't find the net and were defeated in a match where they deserved a better result.

During the first half there was no clear dominant side and both outfits were evenly matched, but it is true that the clearest chances were those created by the Rojiblancas who squandered three chances; one by Jessi, who, after a mistake by the rival goalkeeper, dropped the ball inside the area, but her shot crashed into the side of the net. The girls from Almería were the ones who gained momentum.

In the second half, UD Almeria Women continued with that intensity high up the pitch and began to fashion more chances; In the 66th minute, the Indálicas had a great opportunity to take the lead with a good free-kick, but Paqui hit the crossbar unfortunately. Shortly after this attempt, the match was going to take a radical turn with the sending off of Fátima after seeing two yellow cards, which left the Rojiblancas reduced to 10 women about 20 minutes before the final whistle. From then on, Málaga CF Women began to have a little more possession of the ball and in the 76th minute, Futu scored from a corner-kick. The Indálicas did not give up and kept trying, yet the bad luck and spirited performance of the rival goalkeeper made it impossible for the hosts to score points.
