0-1: Ramazani’s goal seals win over Águilas FC
The Rojiblancos clinch second pre-season victory in the last friendly before training camp in Marbella
UD Almería clinched their second pre-season victory over Aguilas FC at El Rubial Stadium. thanks to Largie Ramazani scoring the goal of the match. It was a game in which the Rojiblancos could have found the net more times as they dominated their opponents for long periods throughout the full 90 minutes of the third friendly this summer.
Head coach Rubi did not include any starters with respect to those who played 24 hours before versus Atlético Pulpileño. The starting XI was formed by keeper Fernando; Juanjo Nieto, Chumi, Iván Martos, Akieme, César de la Hoz, Robertone, Curro Sánchez, Lazo, Ramazani and Raúl Caballero.
In general terms, the sides were evenly matched over the first half, although UD Almería were the team with the most possession who made their presence known. Two plays stood out in this first 45 minutes, both happened at a quarter of an hour, in which Robertone took the ball under control and the Aguileño goalkeeper was brave enough to prevent the opener.
The second period started without any changes in the Rojiblancos’ line-up. Almería looked absolutely determined to get ahead of the game, so Raúl Caballero was about to score, but Leo was very attentive to avert the danger created by the homegrown player’s powerful shot.
With 56 minutes on the clock, the final 0-1 would take place. Largie Ramazani became fearsome in attack after a brilliant tactical move. Caballero passed the ball to the wing so as to find the Belgian, who booted it well enough to beat the adversary goalie and seal victory for UD Almeria.
Although the scoreboard at El Rubial did not record any more goals, there were actions that could have been better news. The keeper from Aguilas denied Raúl Caballero’s thumping header within 66 minutes. Shortly after, the changes arrived with keeps Rosić; Aitor Buñuel, Maraš, Juan Ibiza, Akieme, Samú Costa, Javi Robles, Arnau Puigmal, Yanis Rahmani, Dani Albiar and Sadiq Umar coming on the field. It was the 70th minute.
Aguilas FC would then enjoy their clearest goal-scoring opportunity. Abel Molinero took advantage of Rosić’s goal-kick mistake and was about to draw level, however, the ball hit the woodwork.
The friendly match came to an end (0-1), allowing UD Almería to complement the good vibes felt in this summer’s action with a new victory. After this away trip, the Rojiblancos will have to pack their bags to start their training camp in Marbella. UD Almeria will be heading to Malaga on Thursday.
