0-1: UD Almería 'B' fall short at home against Linares Deportivo despite strong performance

The Academy side show promise but are undone by penalty and solid defensive display

UD Almería 'B' were unable to build on their recent away win over Atlético Malagueño, suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Linares Deportivo on Matchday 3. Despite a bright display in which they controlled much of the game and created multiple chances, the young Rojiblancos were ultimately undone by a 29th-minute penalty and the resolute defending of their opponents.

The young UD Almería 'B' side took charge from the outset, pressing high and looking for a breakthrough. However, it was Linares Deportivo who struck first when Álex Caramelo converted a penalty after a foul in the box. The hosts continued to push forward, but despite their attacking efforts, they could not find the equaliser.

Alberto Lasarte’s team  featured several changes from their previous outing and showed moments of promise, but were unable to break down the disciplined defence of Linares, who managed to see out the game and secure all three points
