Summer signing Nico Fernández's early strike seals victory in pre-season third friendly against Martos CD
UD Almería 'B' secured a 1-0 win over Martos CD in the Ciudad de Martos Trophy on Wednesday evening, with a first-half strike from Nico Fernández proving enough to seal the victory.
The match, held in Martos (Jaén), marked the third pre-season friendly for Alberto Lasarte's squad, who are continuing their preparations for the upcoming league campaign.
The young Rojiblancos controlled the game after Fernández's goal in the 10th minute and despite pressure from their fifth-tier opponents, they comfortably held on to their lead.
Fernández, one of the 9 summer signings, scored the only goal of the match. Having earned promotion to Spain's top flight last season with Real Avilés Industrial CF while on loan from AD Alcorcón, the forward showed his pedigree with a well-taken goal.
The match also featured solid performances from goalkeeper Zorro and defenders Agulló, Nacho Rubio, Svidersky, and Alberto. In midfield, Josema and Joan dictated play, while Marsu, Félix, and Yago worked tirelessly up front.
This victory follows earlier pre-season matches against Juventud de Torremolinos CF and Recreativo de Granada, as Lasarte’s side continues to fine-tune its preparations for the league season.
