0-0: Jesús López shines in his injury return to UD Almería 'B'

UD Almería 'B' earned a valuable goalless draw (0-0) on Matchday 30 against UCAM Murcia at La Condomina stadium in Murcia. The point allows the 'B' team to remain in the promotion play-off spots, although the results they have seen have sent them down to 5th place, which would also allow them to fight for promotion. 

 

Had they not picked up a point, they would have fallen from the privileged position they have held all season. The match against strong contenders from the Primera RFEF was a test of fire, which they have successfully overcome. 

 

Goalkeeper Jesús López, returning after a month and a half on the treatment table, was key in this game. The keeper suffered a serious ankle injury in the match the Rojiblancos played against Atlético Antoniano on the Anexo pitch on February 23rd. In addition to showing a great performance, he saved a penalty awarded to UD Almería 'B' in the 15th minute. A decisive moment in the match that allowed the Almería team to maintain stability keeping the Murcianos at bay.

 

Both teams had chances to break the deadlock; UCAM perhaps had the clearest ones, but the UDA 'B' team's excellent display was rewarded with a crucial striker.
