0-0: Almeria Women come closest but it ends honours even

The Rojiblancas have more presence in the scoring zone, but they did not manage to break the deadlock against Sevilla Women ‘B’

It was a goalless draw between UD Almería Women and Sevilla FC Women ‘B’, leaving the feeling that the scoreboard had not recorded what should have been a deserved victory for the Indálicas, who put in a commanding display on the Emilio Campra Youth Stadium pitch. The hosts made their presence known in the final third but did not manage to break the deadlock. With half an hour gone, the goal scored by the Rojiblancas was disallowed for offside. Both sides battled hard for a share of the spoils though (0-0).

Head coach Álvaro García Búrdalo surprised by making several changes in the starting line-up with Ani; Eva, Mireya, Laura, Flores, Anita, Adriana, Ana Carrascosa, Irene, Jessi and Sarita starting at home.

Almería Women looked ambitious in their attacking plays from the off by whipping in chances. With 30 minutes on the clock, the Rojiblancas’ goal was controversially ruled out  for offside after a corner-kick. This action inspired Sevilla Women ‘B’ to look for a response so the visitors were also making a great effort to stop the continuous fine attempts at the hands of the hosts. It was an end-to-end game until half-time (0-0).

The second half saw Rojiblanca Sarita squandering a big chance. The Indalicas played with courage but they could not find the final pass. Keeper Sara was actually not put to the test that much thanks to the Almeria Women defenders who showed dazzling defensive skills.

UD Almería Women continued fighting until the final whistle with the firm intention of leaving the three points at the Emilio Campra Youth Stadium. However, the huge effort was not rewarded with a deserved victory so the spoils were shared between two teams who went into the meeting level on points so both of them will continue like this for at least one more week after this nil-nil draw. This makes it five weeks with Almeria Women being undefeated.
