‘We have to help those who are most in need’

Mohamed El Assy, CEO of UD Almería, speaks to UDA Radio about the donation of 1,200,000 euros made by the club

Even though Mohamed El Assy, the chief executive officer of UD Almería, is currently in Egypt, he took the time to speak to UDA Radio, the official radio station of the Rojiblanco club, about the donation of 1,200,000 euros made by club in a bid to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. The president and main shareholder, Turki Al-Sheikh, announced this initiative last week.

The managing director of UD Almería pointed out that ‘this decision was taken to keep on making an effort to support the city of Almería and its inhabitants’. Afterwards, the director of football added that ‘the health system needs to be well equipped to deal with this pandemic. In the meantime, we have to help those who are most in need.’

Mohamed El Assy stands up for the capacity ‘to stop the spread of coronavirus pandemic in our beloved Almería’, in addition to making an appeal to everyone: ‘stay at home and take good care of yourselves. God bless you all.’
