UD Almería announce the arrival of a new proficient goalkeeper, Giorgi Makaridze

The 30-year-old goalie is 1.95 metres tall moves from the Portuguese club Vitoria de Setúbal and he is a Georgia international

Giorgi Makaridze, a 30-year-old and 1.95 metres tall goalkeeper, becomes a new UD Almería player after reaching an agreement and signing a two-year contract with the Andalusian club. The new Rojiblanco keeper is a Georgia regular international and comes to bring wealth of experience and security to the goal of the Almeria team.

Makaridze was born on 31st March, 1990 in Tbilisi, the capital of his home country, Georgia. He took his first steps as a footballer at Dinamo Tbilisi Academy promoting to the first-team eventually. He has subsequently played for French and Portuguese clubs. He also defended the team colours of several Portuguese clubs, such as Rio Ave FC, CD Feirense, Moreirense FC and Vitoria de Setúbal, from whom he arrives on a free transfer.

The new UD Almería goalkeeper has already joined the Rojiblanco team’s training camp in Marbella.
