Turki Al-Sheikh raises the donation to fight coronavirus to 1,200,000 euros

The owner of UD Almeria donates 500,000 euros for medical supplies and 700,000 in humanitarian aid

Turki Al-Sheikh, president and owner of the UD Almería, raised to a total of 1,200,000 euros the donation that through the Rojiblanco club he is going to make to fight coronavirus in Almería, where the number of positive cases continues to increase every day, as also happens in the rest of the Spain and Europe.

At first, Turki Al-Sheikh announced the contribution of 500,000 euros for the supply of medical equipment, aid that will be coordinated by the club, its Foundation and by the Mayor of the city, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco. That happened in the early hours of Saturday afternoon and without giving it a second thought, the owner of the UD Almería announced a major initiative to donate 700,000 euros more in humanitarian aid at midnight.

In this regard, it should be underlined that this second amount of money will go to those people who most need food (300,000 euros), to strengthen health care workforce and service planning (200,000 euros), to help those who may have lost their jobs (100,000) and volunteers who are helping in the fight against the virus.

The UD Almería Foundation have to work hard these days to make the list of groups to which these 700,000 euros will be allocated, and will establish contacts with institutions and health authorities.

When Turki Al-Sheikh acquired UD Almería last year, he announced that his project was not only limited to purely the sport aspect, but also to infrastructure and the social aspect.
