The Rojiblancos plotting against current LaLiga SmartBank table-toppers

The Rojiblancos carried out a final footy practice which ended with a pep talk

Almería are ready to face Monday’s fixture against current LaLiga SmartBank leaders RCD Espanyol at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium with a boost of confidence (kick-off 9,00 p.m. CEST). Not only the players have shown the right, positive attitude in the last training session but also throughout this week. The training day came to an end with a pep talk as both the squad and the coaching team join efforts to try to defeat their next rivals, who go into the game on the back of five back-to-back wins in the last match weeks.

The first-team UD Almeria squad would like get back to old selves and feel those good vibes again. That is the only thing that concerns head coach José Gomes at the moment as he has already stated in the pre-Espanyol press conference. The Portuguese does not look at the table but at the imminent match. He urges his team to go forward one game at a time and see if it is possible to achieve automatic promotion in the end, even though it is quite complicated. On the other hand, participating in the play-offs would also be a good reason to be proud of themselves because it is another way to earn promotion to Primera Division as he pointed out.

The squad took to the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium pitch for a final training session, which was held behind closed doors, although there will be a pre-workout activation routine on Monday. All the players are available for selection, except suspended Jose Corpas. Ivanildo and Manu Morlanes, are up for grabs after being out of action in Zaragoza following accumulation of yellow cards.
