Small mistakes condemn Almeria U19 ‘A’ again

The homegrown players deserved a better result yet they lost to Cádiz. Almeria U19 ‘B’ start season winning 0-3 over Marbella

UD Almeria U19 ‘A’ did not manage to bag any points during the first intense week of competition with 3 league matches despite the fact that they deserved a better result.  The homegrown players were defeated 1-0 in Cádiz for the third time in a row as small mistakes condemn the UD Almeria Academy products. The boys were down to 10 men when Rubén Barranco was sent off so the opponents took advantage of this setback shortly after.

The UD Almería U19s ‘A’ team faced the league meeting with Paco - who replaced Mert because he was named in the Almeria ‘B’ squad list- Rubén Barranco, Junior, Domin, Leal, Álvaro, Abel, Jorge, Soto, Hugo and Josemi in the starting XI. Gabri Martinez and Víctor Sala joined Almeria ‘B’ as well as the keeper.

In general, it was a first half with both teams creating goal-scoring opportunities in a bid to pick up the points. The teenage Rojiblancos had no luck to score. During the initial moments of the second period, this trend would not change. It was from minute 70 when the small mistakes condemned the boys from Almeria. In the first place, Rubén Barranco was sent off when he was awarded a second yellow card, while shortly after, Cádiz took advantage having one more player in action than their visitors to score the match-winning goal.

Almeria U19 ‘A’ completed the first three Division de Honor Juvenil official matches without getting points and with the feeling that football is not being fair to them when it comes to rewarding the great work that Juan Carlos Cintas' boys have been doing. They are hosting Jovenes Promesas de Melilla at the Los Angeles Sports City next week.

Almeria U19 ‘B’ debut scoring 3 goals

On the other hand, things were better for Almeria U19s ‘B’ this 2021/22 season. Alberto Lasarte’s side visited Marbella, one of the candidates to occupy the top of the table and they did so by commanding at all times until they achieved the result of 0-3 with the goals from Angosto, in the 37th minute, Valen within 67 minutes and Miguel Molina, who found the back of the net when the match was heading towards its end.

The Under-16s teams were in action last weekend too. Almeria U16 ‘A’ obtained a home victory in their game vs.Tiro Pichon. The score was 3-1 as the homegrowns staged a spectacular comeback in the second half. Quite the opposite happened to the Under-16s ‘B’, who went ahead in and ended up losing by 1-2.
