Rubi: ‘We’ve regained the lead thanks to some fantastic know-how’

The head coach highlights the high level of UD Almería and recognises the hard work of his players after winning at the Anduva Stadium

‘We’ve regained the lead thanks to some fantastic know-how,’ pointed out UD Almeria head coach Rubi when recognising the great effort of his players, their power to merit points to remain at the top of the table. The astounding 1-4 victory over CD Mirandés was possible thanks to ‘the preparation, the ability of managing squad rotation, not lowering the level and of course, a dreamy first-half.’

The Catalan head coach acknowledged that for the group it was ‘a very important week,’ since in his opinion, if they managed to win on the Anduva pitch and previously against Real Sociedad ‘B’ - as it happened last Thursday – ‘It’d be a great boost for a team that works really hard.’

After ringing the changes with 7 new faces in the starting XI and seeing the great level showed on the pitch, the gaffer stressed ‘all the players are at UD Almería because they have that level’ to be part of this Club. When talking about Dyego Sousa, Rubi commented: ‘We’ve been working with him for 40 days and we know of his potential. We’ve just waited for right time and I’m really happy.’

Rubi did not want to mention anything about promotion because experience has shown him that in the second tier, it is necessary to compete at all times. He concluded: ‘If we continue like this, we can say that UD Almería can win on every pitch, playing well and with humility.’
